MLCV has operated in the gaming industry since the 1990s, when we first acquired Grand Casino Mille Lacs. Since then, we have grown our gaming portfolio to include Grand Casino Hinckley, Eddy’s Resort, and SLOTCO — a new and improved slot game experience.

Starting in 2013, MLCV made an investment in growing its hospitality portfolio. Our first hotel was the Crowne Plaza St. Paul Riverfront, now known as the InterContinental Saint Paul Riverfront. Since then, we have grown this area to include four hotels and a resort across Minnesota and in Oklahoma.
The Makwa Global Portfolio
MLCV operates a portfolio of 15 government contracting businesses under Makwa Global. Our services include security and training, IT and cyber security, professional services and staffing, logistics and aviation, plus construction and facilities support.
Wewinabi Inc. houses our Tribal economy and in-district investment portfolio. The mission of Wewinabi is to create job opportunities and services for Mille Lacs Band Members within three districts of the Mille Lacs Band Reservation.
The portfolio includes a property management group, three affordable housing communities, a grocery store, three convenience stores, a national franchise restaurant, a commercial laundry operation, a cinema, and ML Wastewater Management.

Lake Leaf Cultivation
With construction kicking off in March of 2024, MLCV began making investments in the cannabis industry with Lake Leaf Cultivation, a 50,000-square-foot, full-scale cultivation facility. Located behind Grand Casino Mille Lacs in Onamia, Minnesota, the facility is designed to support the entire cultivation process — from seed to sale.
